TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite (PIA) — With a goal to bring essential government services closer to the public, the Cavite leg of the Handog ng Pangulo served more than 5,000 residents and locators in the province.
Held simultaneously nationwide last September 14, Handog ng Pangulo was part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s birthday celebration, which aimed to bring a caravan of government services and benefits across all sectors.
For its Cavite leg, Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla and Governor Abeng Remulla led the activity, and were joined by local chief executives and district representatives.
Handog ng Pangulo brought together various national government agencies, which provided to the beneficiaries their frontline services, livelihood and agricultural assistance, educational support, legal services, healthcare, employment opportunities, and other government programs.
The Provincial Government also brought its flagship medical and dental consultation program and job fairs.
In a statement, the Office of the Provincial Information Officer (OPIO) underscored that the Handog ng Pangulo highlights the Marcos Jr. administration’s commitmed to bring services closer to the people through a coordinated, one-stop delivery of programs and assistance.
“Through the convergence of the PGC and participating NGAs, Caviteños gained easier access to services supporting their health, livelihood, education, agriculture, employment, legal concerns, and overall welfare.”
Based on reports by the OPIO, Handog ng Pangulo also awarded sector-specific assistance and livelihood projects.
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) distributed allowances, training support funds, starter toolkits, and scholarship vouchers, while the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Cavite-Batangas awarded livelihood projects, including a ₱300,000 Rice-Duck Farming Livelihood Project, ₱210,000 High-Value Crop Production with Drip Irrigation System Project, and ₱500,000 RTL Chicken Project for the CY 2026 Most Outstanding Irrigators Association at the regional level.
The Department of Agriculture provided ₱4,034,902 worth of agricultural programs and services, while the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Cavite awarded ₱673,000 for an Ideation, Design, and Development Laboratory and ₱580,000 for a Coffee Roasting Facility.
For education and migrant assistance, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) RO IV-A granted ₱1.86 million in UniFAST assistance to qualified Cavite State University grantees, while the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) RO IV-A extended ₱8.1 million through the AKSYON Fund for overseas Filipino workers in need.
Meanwhile, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) IV-A provided three FRP boats worth ₱210,000, ₱1.8 million worth of inputs for three HDPE fish cages, and ₱15 million for the establishment of a Common Post-Harvest Facility under the FishCoRe Project.
Other government agencies, such as the Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Bureau of Immigration (BI), Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA), Land Registration Authority, and the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation extended their services to overseas workers, farmers, and their families.
