CAVITE CITY (PIA) – Close to 841 individuals benefitted from the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.
Residents of Barangays 5 and 7 in Cavite City received their pay-out from TUPAD that serves as a temporary employment to workers in the informal sector.
Rizalie Pinpin of the Provincial Public Employment Service Office acknowledged the support given by Representative Brian Revilla, Board Members Abeng Remulla, Ram Revilla, Romel Enriquez, and Kawit Councilor Jygs Gandia for their assistance given to the program beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the provincial office of DOLE awarded livelihood assistance to Carmona State Association Cooperative composed of 240 members, which was established last 2005 with existing laundry, bigasan, and fabcon projects. They were granted additional supplies for their carwash and auto supply project.
In addition, Seasonal Workers from Balite I, Silang composed of 47 members were awarded root crops (yacon) which can produce wine, vinegar, spread, turon, lumpiang sariwa, and even hair products from the oil of the crops.
Ms. Ruth Terrible, Senior LEO, reminded the beneficiaries of the importance of sustaining the grant given to them by DOLE by continuously producing products and developing more skills that can lead to the enhancement of their project. (RF/PIA-Cavite, with reports from OPIO,DOLE-Cavite)
