Camp BGen Pantaleon Garcia, City of Imus, Cavite—The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) launched a new initiative aimed at strengthening law enforcement presence in strategic areas throughout the province. Dubbed as “Patrulyang Magilas,” the program combines increased police visibility with swift and effective response to crime.
“Patrulyang Magilas” is a Filipino term that combines “Patrolya,” referring to the fundamental duty of police officers, with “Magilas,” meaning quick, active, ready to act, and on the go. The name reflects the initiative’s goal of providing swift and effective law enforcement services.
The initiative was formally launched today, with a send-off ceremony for motorcycle patrollers of Mobile Patrol Unit (MPU) deployed to fixed visibility posts across the province. The posts will be strategically positioned in areas prone to crime and convergence points, ensuring a visible police presence.
The program is made possible through the strong support of former Governor and currently the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) Jonvic Remulla, who donated 200 units of NMAX motorcycles to the Cavite PPO.
“We are grateful for the support of SILG Remulla and committed to making Cavite a safer and more secure place for everyone,” said Acting Provincial Director, PCOL Dwight E Alegre, who led the launch ceremony. He also expressed his deepest gratitude to each and every one for continuous support and cooperation. “Together, let us build a Cavite where safety and security are not just aspirations, but realities. Let us work together to ensure the success of “Patrulyang Magilas” as we strive for a brighter, safer future for all,” he added.
With “Patrulyang Magilas,” the Cavite PPO aims to foster a safer and more secure environment for the community, promote a culture of trust and cooperation between the police and the public, and support the province’s growing economy. As the province continues to work towards a safer and more secure environment, the “Patrulyang Magilas” initiative is poised to play a vital role in achieving this vision.
Since its launch, Magilas Patrollers of Mobile Patrol Unit (MPU) have responded swiftly to various incidents, including a vehicular accident along Manila-Cavite Road in Brgy. San Rafael IV, Noveleta, Cavite on January 25, 2025. Their prompt response helped diffuse tension and ease the situation between drivers involved, preventing potential escalation.
Similarly, on January 29, 2025, Magilas Patrollers responded to another vehicular incident at Sitio Gulugod Baboy Brgy. Tibig, Silang, Cavite saving lives and demonstrating their effectiveness.
Notably, on December 30, 2024, Magilas Patrollers successfully arrested a suspect and saved a victim’s life in a stabbing incident at Brgy. Panapaan 2, Bacoor City, Cavite. Their presence and swift response were instrumental in resolving the situation.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office’s “Patrulyang Magilas” initiative has already shown promising results, demonstrating its effectiveness in responding to emergency situations and near life-and-death incidents. Its full implementation is expected to yield even more success stories.
These success stories highlight the initiative’s impact in maintaining public safety and order in Cavite.
