BFP BACCOR CITY INAUGURATES STRIKE FIRE AND RESCUE VILLAGE

The Bureau of Fire Protection Bacoor City Fire Station inaugurates Strike! Fire and Rescue Village recently as the first ever facility in the country that aims to educate the youth in establishing a city that is fire safety, disaster-ready and knowledgeable in emergency response and management through a deed of usufruct.

In his message, Secretary of Department of the Interior and Local Government, Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos Jr, the guest of Honor and Speaker, expresses the importance of training the youth to be well-equipped and emergency-prepared with the basic knowledge of emergency response especially in fire safety.

He also adds that the inauguration of the project is a timely occasion since it focuses on the younger generation where teaching them at this point of their lives is the best period for them to learn and develop emergency preparedness and awareness.

Hon Mayor Strike B. Revilla, as one of the acknowledged guests, expresses his desire that the Fire and Rescue Village of Bacoor City, accomplish the same level of global competencies alongside other nations such as Japan and Korea.

Fire Director LOUIE S PURACAN, CEO VI, Chief, BFP, FCSUPT JAIME D RAMIREZ, DSC, BFP 4A Regional Director, Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista- Mendiola and other key officers from the local government of Bacoor City grace the event.

The complex is a milestone initiative of LGU and is led by Honorable Strike B. Revilla, City Mayor of Bacoor, together with Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista- Mendiola, Congresswoman Lani Mercado, Agimat Party List Representative Hon. Bryan B. Revilla and Sangguniang Panglungsod of Bacoor thru FCINSP Alma Cassandra A Gardose, Bacoor City Fire Marshal, which concept traces back in 2019 inspired by then The House of Berong.

It features 16 stages of activities encapsulating the core roles and responsibilities of the BFP, including Understanding Fire Safety in the kitchen, Road and Water Safety, Home safety and Home Emergency Evaluation, Earthquake Simulation and performing the Stop, Drop and Roll, Ambulance Orientation, Identiying Hazards and Common Signs; Rappelling, Fire Extinguisher Usage Firetruck Ride and Operation, and Basic First Aid and CPR.

SFRV caters both Bacoor residents and non-Bacoor residents and accommodates full educational tour, use of facility for photo shoots, birthdays and other events. (bfpphoto/Renante Arjay Jarobel/Marjorie Mahusay)
