MANILA (PIA) — The Social Security System and the Commission on Filipinos Overseas strengthened their partnership to expand social security access for Overseas Filipinos and their families, supporting the Marcos administration’s priority of enhancing social protection through coordinated government services.
The SSS and the CFO signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Aug. 4 in Quezon City to improve access to social security programs through stronger interagency cooperation.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Robert Joseph Montes de Claro and CFO Chairperson Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II led the signing ceremony, reaffirming both agencies’ commitment to advancing the welfare and interests of Overseas Filipinos.
Under the agreement, the SSS and CFO will jointly implement information, education and communication initiatives to increase awareness among Overseas Filipinos about SSS membership, benefits, loan programs and the MySSS Pension Booster.
The partnership also seeks to improve access to social security services and help Filipinos abroad make informed decisions to secure their financial future and protect their families, in line with the administration’s efforts to strengthen social protection and improve the delivery of government services.
“This MOU marks another significant step in strengthening the partnership between SSS and CFO,” de Claro said. “Through this collaboration, we aim to reach more Overseas Filipinos and provide them with the knowledge they need to access SSS programs and services that support their financial security and well-being.”
The agreement builds on the agencies’ collaboration that began in 2025 through the KaSSSangga Collect Program, which expanded SSS coverage among the Job Order and Contract of Service workers of the CFO.
The SSS and CFO said they will continue working together to promote social protection programs and ensure that more Overseas Filipinos and their families benefit from expanded access to social security services through sustained interagency cooperation. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
