The local government of General Trias, led by Mayor Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV and Vice Mayor Jonas Labuguen, extended financial assistance to the transport sector on May 7 at the General Trias Sports Park in Barangay Santiago.
A total of 2,383 registered and franchise-holding beneficiaries received ₱5,000 each in the first batch, while more than 1,000 additional beneficiaries are set to receive aid in the next distribution.
According to Mayor Ferrer, further support is also being prepared for jeepney drivers, riders, and even colorum drivers, including assistance in processing and regularizing their franchises.
“This is a big help for our drivers, especially amid the continuous rise in fuel prices,” the mayor said.
Meanwhile, members of transport groups (TODA) in General Trias continue to strive to provide orderly and continuous public service to commuters.
