Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), the concessionaire for the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), and its C5 Link Segment, extends its support to the young athletes within its communities by organizing a two-leg basketball camp in collaboration with NLEX Road Warriors (NRW) and CAVITEX Braves, the professional basketball team owned by NLEX Corporation.
The basketball clinics were held at Cittadini School Gymnasium in San Pedro, Laguna last June 10 in partnership with La Marea Homeowners Association, and in General Trias Sports Complex last June 17, in partnership with the City Government of General Trias through the initiative of Honorable Mayor Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer and Board Member Maurito “Morit” Sison. Through the clinics, aspiring young athletes aged 7-15 from the communities had an opportunity to enhance their skills and learn from NRW and Cavitex Braves players and NRW basketball clinic coach, Coach Ford Arao.
During the said clinic, campers were divided into teams and embarked on an immersive journey at the basketball camp. They had a rewarding experience, participating in a wide range of dynamic drills and exercises that honed their fundamental basketball skills. From mastering dribbling and passing techniques to improving their defense, rebounding, and shooting abilities, the camp provided a comprehensive learning platform for the young athletes.

Hence, in partnership with NLEX Road Warriors and Cavitex Braves, the clinic aspires to provide an enjoyable environment where these kids can learn basketball skills and develop character to help empower them on and off-court” said MPT South Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management, Arlette Capistrano.
Aside from the basketball clinic itself, participants of the basketball camp had a chance to listen and learn from inspirational talks of NRW and CAVITEX Braves basketball players. Friendly games were also conducted between the aspiring athletes for them to have a full experience.
The successful basketball clinics organized received commendation from its LGU partners, highlighting the positive impact on the community’s youth.

NLEX Road Warriors and CAVITEX Braves Goes South for Basketball Camp
Nagsagawa ang Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), katuwang ang CAVITEX Braves ng NLEX Road Warriors (NRW) players, ng isang two-leg basketball camp para patuloy na sumuporta sa mga batang atleta sa ilang mga komunidad sa kahabaan ng Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), at C5 Link segment nito.
Ang mga basketball clinics na ito ay ginanap sa Cittadini School Gymnasium sa San Pedro, Laguna sa tulong ng La Marea Homeowners Association noong ika-10 ng Hunyo, at noong ika-17 ng Hunyo naman sa General Trias Sports Complex katuwang ang lokal na pamahalaan ng General Trias sa pangungunan nina Honorable Mayor Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer at Board Member Maurito “Morit” Sison. Sa tulong ng basketball clinic, ang mga aspiring young athletes na may edad 7-15, ay nagkaroon ng oportunidad na mahasa ang kanilang mga talento at matuto mula sa mga NRW at Cavitex Braves players at NRW Basketball clinic Coach Ford Arao.
Sa nasabing clinic, hinati hati sa grupo ang mga campers at tinuruan ito ng iba’t ibang dynamic drills at exercises na makatutulong sa paghasa ng kanilang fundamental basketball skills. Mula sa dribbling, passing, defense, rebounding, at shooting, naging mabusisi ang mga coaches sa pagsanay sa mga young athletes.

Bukod sa actual traning, ang mga nagsilahok ay nagkaroon din ng pagkakataon na mapakinggan at matuto mula sa mga inspirational talks ng NRW at Cavitex Braves players. Nagkaroon din ng mga friendly games upang mas maging buo at masaya ang kanilang karanasan.
